Fighting Malaria with CRISPR Cas9 Feb. 20th 2018


On February 20th 2018, it was held in the conference Hall of the Olympic Hotel Palace a seminar on the theme, “Fighting Malaria with CRISPR/Cas9 : Ethical Implications” with the aim of expressing an African voice in the context of the development of genome editing technologies with the main focus and theme of eliminating malaria.


This seminar organized by the Central African Network on Clinical Trials (CANTAM) in collaboration with the Congolese Foundation for Medical Research (FCRM) and under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and Population of Republic of Congo, brought together participants from the sub region (Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DRC, and Chad) in their diverse qualities (members of the Ethic committee, Malaria Researchers, Managers of Malaria Control Programs…) and facilitators from the National Institute of Health and Medical research in France, Prof Hervé Chneiweiss president of the Ethics Committee of INSERM and his general secretory, Dr. Francois Hirsch



It is in this light that Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Medicale (FCRM) in partnership with CANTAM organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Technological Innovation of the Republic of Congo (RoC), from the 6th to 8th February 2018 in the premises of Centre de Recherches sur les Maladies Infectieuses ( CeRMI), a workshop on 3D Printing Training…
